Origins: A Childhood Passion for Fighting Cocks
Aljon Gaza’s journey into the world of Sabong and cockfighting began in his childhood. Under the guidance of his father and uncle, he was introduced to the sport as early as fourth grade. He not only watched matches but also raised his own rooster, gifted by his father, and participated in local Sabong competitions. This childhood passion laid the foundation for his future career.
Entrepreneurship: Building His Own Game Farm
Fueled by his love for Sabong and cockfighting, Aljon established his own game farm, “Spoiled sa Misis,” located in San Antonio, Pampanga, spanning two hectares. The farm serves as a hub for breeding, training, and competing, while also operating as a commercial center for selling high-quality roosters and providing breeding expertise, ensuring sustainable growth.
Bloodlines: Scientific Breeding Methods
Aljon places great importance on the management of bloodlines. He has introduced a variety of superior international and local bloodlines, including the “Raptor Sweater” and “Golden Boy” from the U.S., as well as the “White Kelso” and “Lemon” native to the Philippines. Through scientific crossbreeding, he consistently enhances the fighting performance of his roosters, ensuring they excel in fierce Sabong competitions.
Training: Rigorous Daily Management
Every rooster in the farm undergoes professional training. From carefully planned nutrition to a 21-day intensive conditioning program, which includes running circuits and flight exercises, every aspect is meticulously managed by Aljon and his team. Particularly in the week leading up to a cockfighting competition, the roosters undergo final adjustments to ensure peak performance.
The Team: Support from Family and Assistants
Aljon attributes his success to the support of his team and family. His wife, mother-in-law, and a dedicated group of assistants work tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation of the game farm. From monitoring the health of the roosters to strategizing for Sabong competitions, the collective effort of his family and team forms the backbone of the farm’s achievements.
Vision: Striving for the WPC Championship
Aljon’s ambition extends beyond being a successful breeder. He dreams of leading his farm’s fighting cocks to victory in the prestigious World Pitmasters Cup (WPC), one of the top Sabong events in the Philippines and beyond, bringing pride and recognition to the Filipino cockfighting industry.
