Patience and Friendship: The Core of Sabong
Engineer Robert Losero, owner of Lucky Cloud Red Ring Game Farm in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, emphasizes the values of Sabong, such as patience, camaraderie, and respect. For Robert, Sabong has not only been a passion but also a source of lifelong friendships and financial security.
“Friendship and patience are essential in Sabong. Whether you win or lose, the experience teaches humility and respect,” Robert shares.
The Origins of Lucky Cloud Red Ring Game Farm
Lucky Cloud Red Ring Game Farm started as a humble project rooted in Robert’s childhood fascination with roosters. From feeding native chickens for his father to owning over 1,700 gamefowl today, Robert’s journey reflects his deep love for the sport.
The farm’s name has personal significance: “Lucky Cloud” symbolizes blessings and prosperity, inspired by Chinese mythology, while “Red Ring” honors his son, who was born with a unique red ring-like mark on his finger.
Champion Bloodlines for Competitive Sabong
Spanning 500 square meters, Lucky Cloud Red Ring Game Farm houses a variety of elite gamefowl bloodlines designed to dominate Sabong matches:
- High Action Blue Face: A powerful yet disciplined bloodline, perfect for high-stakes betting.
- Gold and Black Lines: Sourced from renowned breeders like Joey Luxon and Sir Art Lopez.
- White Kelso: Known for its exceptional versatility and strategic prowess.
Robert states, “Our focus is on breeding roosters that excel in local and national Sabong competitions, ensuring top-tier performance.
Advanced Rooster Conditioning and Health Maintenance
At Lucky Cloud Red Ring Game Farm, the preparation of roosters is meticulous, prioritizing both their physical and mental readiness for Sabong tournaments:
- Hardening Process: Roosters are prepared through sparring sessions and exposure to hens for weeks to build stamina and aggression.
- Health Protocols: Weekly deworming with Vermex 4, hydration support with multi-light vitamins during hot weather, and Tex and Doc Silak treatments to maintain peak condition.
- Regular Monitoring: Younger and late-born gamefowl are closely observed to ensure early detection and treatment of illnesses.
“To succeed in Sabong, hands-on care and attention are non-negotiable. Constant monitoring ensures our roosters are always ready for competition,” Robert explains.
Collaboration and Community Support in Sabong
Robert credits his achievements to strong partnerships within the Sabong community. Collaborators like Vice Mayor Roel Sumabat and breeder Joey Luxon have provided invaluable guidance and resources. LDI’s products have also been instrumental in maintaining the health and vitality of the farm’s gamefowl.
“Sabong is more than a sport—it’s a passion that brings joy, financial stability, and meaningful connections,” he adds.
